Women are more physically active than ever - at all ages and competitive levels. From the select soccer player to the yoga practitioner...from the elite triathlete to the club tennis enthusiast, girls and women are enjoying the benefits of sport and physical activity.
When it comes to athletic injury, most injuries are sport-specific. This means that certain injuries are common in a given sport based on the physical demands and movement patterns, regardless of whether you are male or female.

As a competitive equestrian at a young age and avid runner, Catherine Robertson, MD, understands first-hand the focus required by her patients for training and competition. She says, “It was important for me to be involved in the development of the Women’s Sports Medicine Program because I am passionate about staying active.
